COROLLA OUTBACK ADVENTURES
has preserved a family tradition that was started in 1962 by my mother and father. Bender's Beach Service guided fishing, hunting and sightseeing parties before there was a paved road North of Duck when telephone numbers only had 4 digits. The memories from those who accompanied my parents on these trips fill scrapbooks. Growing up in this remote area, I gained a different perspective, Things may change around us but this area remains timeless.
Don't miss it!

TOURS
All tours are 20 mile round trips and depart from Corolla Village traveling North along the shore to Carova Beach and False Cape Park at the Virginia state line. Your personal guide will take you into the Wild Horse Conservation Easement and other areas accessible only to us. Outside of their designated habitat, horses are often sighted galloping along the beach or cooling off in the surf. Along the way an ancient maritime forest at Wash Woods is a curious sight, with stumps rising from the sand that extend out into the surf in mute testimony to earlier environmental changes. Your group is led by an experienced guide who is knowledgeable and informative about the area and its history. Unscheduled appearances of wildlife and other photo opportunities can and do unexpectedly appear creating lasting impressions providing unforgettable memories.

For your comfort and convenience, open, closed and climate controlled vehicles are offered along with different tour options.

The Guided Passenger Tour....
If you prefer not to drive, ride along with your guide into the heart of the 4 wheel drive area North of Corolla in one of our unique, custom vehicles. The breathtaking scenery, ocean breezes along with eclectic history, folklore (tall tales) added to the mix and you'll have a ball. My daily commute (by 4X4 or anything available) from Penny's Hill to Manteo during my high school years would fill a book and contributes to the most informative and entertaining journey available.
